This place is an loldramafest. Or ar least it was last night. Seriously, when Mom's in a bad mood, watch out 'cause things can get ugly easily.

I find it easier to ignore the kids once they start feeling sorry for themselves, and lock myself in my room with a book to stay out of Mom's way, but last night I tried something different last night - I DRANK MORE TEA.

It's like magic calming-ness :3 The little kids are blubbering and clinging to Dad, and I'm all ":D" I think mom needs to drink more tea. And as soon as I finish this gryphon, I'll draw her some flowers. She's been having bad days lately >:

BUT no worries, 'cause this gryph is turning out gorgeous, the raspberries are so plentiful you could pick them for hours and not get them all, I saw the frog in the pond the other day, a kidlet spotted a hummingbird yesterday, the flowers out front are magnificent, Boroma is healthy, we're having pancakes for breakfast, the water heater is on for my morning chai, I won a Glassgryph and gave it to Mira and she attcked me with love and happiness, the Cephalopods are being loved by many people, and my entire music library is on shuffle. LIFE ISH GOOD, PEOPLES.

French rap + Sting = love <3

I saw a youngling at the feeder today and nearly squealed with joy. They are the cutest, friendliest birds short of Chickadees that come and visit. On the other hand, house sparrows are annoying. They like to bicker, and some of them are seriously overweight from too many feeder trips.

Also, the pond has aquired an insane amount of teeny fry fish (again) and a frog. We have no idea where the frog came from, but speculate that it might have been the swamp down the block. In which case, he'll probably stay here since he knows how little water there is between that swamp and this pond.

dozaloz! You are a master of awesome, and once I get Davy Jones' topic up in the character boards your fanart shall be displayed there, if it be your will.

Haven't even started those sketches, lawl. I'm a slow potato. But I did get stuff done today, which is good.

I've been playing Endless Forest a lot lately, too. Liria handles it really well, though I bet if we gave her that NVidia graphics card it would run even better. I'm just in love with that game, though! If your computer can manage it, I want to see one of you guys in the forest sometime.

Mah deer, complete with glowy pictogram, in my "special sleeping spot"

Yep, I always quit the game in that same spot so I can "wake up" in that same spot. It's purdy. I try to keep that pelt/mask/antlers set, too. The pelt is just plain pretty. The antlers have poppies, and I love poppies. And the masks change the way your voice sounds. Since I don't like being a loud obnoxious deer, I keep that mask and it makes quiet whistling noises when I roar. Some gracious person changed me into a frog lately, so I was romping around as a deerfrog for at least four hours on and off. Way too addicting, that game is. It's just so peaceful and simple. You're basically in an interactive painting, playing with deer and exploring the many surprises of the forest.

I want to make Endless Forest fanart badly.

Also, raspberry season is upon us! *sends raspberries to everyone via mindwaves* I spend most of my outdoor time in the raspberry patch now.

<lj:music>Sweet Talkin' Woman - Electric Light Orchestra (Out of the Blue)</lj:music>

At first glance, my house and family seems ideal. Seriously, we are the American stereotype. Picture this scenario:

A "stylish" 40-year-old mother sits at the dinner table, chatting on the phone with one of her friends about a lunch date tomorrow. Dad's at work, making a living for the family. A young blonde teenager in tank top and capris bakes cookies in a somewhat messy, but color-coordinated kitchen. The kitchen is roomy and decorative, with large windows that give you a perfect view of the homemade birdfeeder and glass hummingbird feeder in the flowering windowside garden. The three young children frolic and play in the 3/4 acre yard, and the neighbor kids have come over for a swim in the pool. The back deck overlooks a lush green yard with a garden and patio off to one side, leading to a small manmade pond and, farther, a vegetable garden. In the front yard, the family dog plays with a two-year-old child who is running about in glee. Bikes and toys dot the driveway, and a concrete pathway leads to a porch covered in wicker chairs and proudly displaying a wooden porch swing. Back inside again, the front hallway opens up to a spotless living room with a dining table (barely used), a china cabinet (also barely used), and a large television set. The cat lounges on the back of the couch, looking out the window with her tail twitching every once in a while.

Stereotypical to the last detail.

We find that the house is just a mess of controlled chaos.

One of the cats decided to crap in the water dish for who-the-hell-knows-what-reason. The kids, all under the age of twelve, are piled in the pool without any adults to watch them. The two-year-old doesn't know his real father, and might have autism. The dog is losing his spunk, and the family wordlessly knows that he's losing his youth quickly. The cat will run and hide if you enter the room, or complain something awful if you pick her up - she's not friendly. The mother has been on the phone for the past two hours. The father is taking classes and has been coming home late and leaving early - giving him little time for sleep. The teenager is always on the computer, and everyone is concerned about her retinas burning out someday (lawl). One of the children has a neurologist appointment scheduled today for her returning epilepsy. Another one of the children has a mental disorder of unknown origin (to me at least) that makes him a horrid pain in the neck to the entire family, since he apparently has no consience and his pastimes are stealing, lying, and disobeying orders. And, of course, one of the family members who recently totaled her car is off working all day to try to pay for a new one. We never see her.

I've painted a simple picture of roughly an hour of activity in our home yesterday.

Gads, this place is crazy.

In other words! I've been making Liria nice and comfortable lately - after transfering my small collection of soundtracks and miscellany to Windows Media Player, I made a beeline for Dad's CD rack. I was only a quarter of the way down when I realised I couldn't safely carry any more CDs from the living room to the computer room. So, systematically, I've just ripped 10 of Dad's CDs to Liria, and I'm going back for seconds.

ELO!

    <lj:music>The Kraken - Hans Zimmer (Pirates 2)</lj:music>

Not my arts, but still, art arts! I went to Milwaukee Lakefront Festival of the Arts today. Fun stuff, you know. I was gaping and saying "wow" every three minutes, which was kind of lame. At the kid's craft area, I made a frilly blue "jellyfish chandelier" out of a plasic bowl, ribbons, and eyelash yarn. x3

One of the artists there, Shelby Keefe, did a demonstration - speedpainting to techno music. We hung around and talked to her afterwards, which was an odd feeling. She seemed to intuitively know that I was the artist of the family as we walked over and I thought, Hey, you're like a higher being in the art world. Mingling with the... er, peasants. Namely, myself. I was shy and respectful, as I usually am around strangers, but it was fun to talk with her. She seemed eager for me to keep in touch with her and gave me a postcard with her email on it. I may send over my Skull+Flower pastel peice with a few of my other favorites later today.

Oh, Doz! Pujii the cuttlefish wants to go home with you :D

I'll be teaching Vacation Bible School all next week. Pweee, little kids are fun when they're not a pain in the neck :3

I USE MY CHRISTMAS ICON BECAUSE IT FEELS LIKE CHRISTMAS! ALSO, I SHOUT A LOT.

As of last night, I am the official owner of a brand-spankin-new computer! *asplodes with happiness*

Ahahahah I can still remember how my stomach lurched when the total price was announced. But I've paid roughly $400 of the total, plus I'm getting a recovery disk for Windows Vista (still iffy about it, but I couldn't get XP) and a subscription to Spy Sweeper with AntiVirus, so it doesn't go kaput like last time. I still have to pay off somewhere between $300-$411, depending on if Dad strikes up a deal with me to help pay off the Vista version of SpySweeper. (But I doubt he will because he's already advanced me so much.)

SO.

I r teh happeh :D

Ooh, also, the deal we got included a $190 LCD monitor with a $170 mail-in rebate. Seriously, the monitor pays for itself! Too cool.

Computer gets picked up tonight (they're installing Spy Sweeper and uninstalling a bunch of adware crap that comes preloaded and eats up memory). I still don't know where we're putting it, though, since the parents don't want me holed up in the basement for the summer, especially while I'm watching kidlets.

*dances like a dancing... thing*

Edit - Just got a call from Circuit City - the computer's ready! *dances even more*

I'll post some of the finished ones after I color them as a guest colorer.

And another one of those sketches that I probably shouldn't post. Gippal is so hard to draw D:

And a not-so-sketch - Springtime the Pykiin, which Charmwing got as a prize in a mini art contest. I love these colors so much.

Heh, Jade is some kind of Pykiin Insider now, just because she watches my journal x3 I post too much art for my own good.

.... yay for 80's music.

Oh! And also, one thing that really made my day today - I was petting Chantilly in the living room, and I heard an oddly familiar annoying little trill outside the window. Sure enough, when I walked over and looked, there was the fledgling robin and it's mother - the fledgling chirping loudly every three seconds and its mother digging for breakfast. I felt all fuzzy inside.

Okay, when the forecast called for heavy winds yesterday, I didn't think they meant almost-tornado winds. And we were almost-tornadoed. And... I slept through the whole thing, as usual.

Luckily, the only damage the house suffered was that the gutter got ripped off one side of the house. The willow tree across the street got banged up pretty badly, but Boroma is okay.

I nearly cried, though - we have a mother robin and her fledgling (old enough to fly but never leaves its mother's side) that like to visit our yard. But this morning as I left to babysit, the younger bird was wandering around alone and crying. >: I can only hope the mother didn't get hurt in the storm and that they'll find each other again.

Eh, I'm such a softie when it comes to animals.

Cephalopods! <3 I might make some lineart... but I've got other stuff to do, real life-wise and pykiin-wise, before I can.

And also, I probably shouldn't post until it's all done, but I can't help it. Pretty pictures and whatnot that I want to show everyone. Jade, you saw nothing! Nothing, hear me? x3

Also, I read the Golden Compass, as there's a movie coming out soon and it grabbed my attention. That book really did make me cry, for one chapter. Great book, lots of things tug at my heartstrings but if you can actually force a few tears then I've attached myself to the characters and to the story itself. Can't wait for the movie to come out :3

Dad is trying to get me to learn how to use the lawn mower tractor D: Gawd, I'm scared of that thing.

I bet me and Doz frightened it by calling it poopy and racist :D ~

Yes, shame on me, I've started yet another project. I'm going to (try to) do a Cephalopod adoptable! :D It started with seeing PotC3 and realising that Cuttlefish are overlooked in popular culture and they would be so much fun to do for an adoptie. Of course, you can't have cuttlefish without octopi and squid and kraken! (Buuuut... now I don't know if I'll have time for such coolness or even Pykiin because people are stupid D:)

I was digging around for other cool cephalopods to use as species for the new adoptable and I stumbled on the blanket octopus. I would love to ramble about it but I can go do that in someone else's journal. Basically, everything about the movie other than the excessive death and destruction was awesome. :3 And I have pictures from the party with friends that I might show off later.

I got the soundtrack, too. <lj:music>He's a pirate [Tiesto remix] (yes, I've grown fond of this random track)</lj:music>

No moar school (as of Friday)!!! I will finally have time to draw! Yay in a biscuit with sprinkles :3

Sorry for being so dead lately, school and exams and Pykiin and whatnot caught up with me. So, a long summary of the past few weeks:

School Stuff
Dood! I made Symphonic band!
After practicing all week, my audition flew smoothly and I didn't even need to finish my solo to convince the band director. I went from third chair in the beginning group to second chair in the advanced group in one year. <3

Dissecting Hitler
As much as I fear dead animals, the Bio dissection wasn't bad in the least. Our frog (Hitler, as we named him) got his innards removed - mostly by me. I only squealed once, when a scalpel slipped and fat bodies got flung at me.

Concert (+ loldrama)
Our Spring Concert for band went relatively well, apart from minor drama that brought back the whole "Chelsea is a horrible clarinet player" incident briefly. That's all long gone, though, so I'll spare you the details. I managed to get through the school year with only 2 and a half bouts of minor drama! Huzzah!

Exams
Long. Boring. Easy. What else is new?

Art show!

My stuff - most of you have already seen, but anyways:

These guys are my home peeps, yo. xD *hearts for Schwo and Lindsey*

~All of the following art is not done by me, but they were much too cool to pass up.~

Whoever made this one is amazing beyond belief. One of my friends (I use the term loosely, but I know her well) did this, and I seriously want to buy it from her and put it up in my room somewhere. So much love, the photo doesn't do it any justice.

Miscellaneous stuffness
A Table by the Window
Awesome book by Lawana Blackwell. The atmosphere she creates is so cozy, and she adds just the right amount of detail so you can visualise the story very very well but not be bored out of your brains reading it.

NO MOAR BRACES (thank God)
Omgyey.

Before:

After:

Of course, I still have the torture of retainers to endure. Great for drinking chai tea <3

Chickadee
Yep, another one. Like I said, odd fascination for chickadees. Another school art project, and I love how it came out. That darn clarinet took me forever to make, though D:

Flitterkiin
Finished versions for those cute little buggers I asked for help with earlier. I've already been extremely lucky to recieve around $90 in exchange for Flitters and an account renewal to PonyIsland. *hugs the pykiin RP people* You guys are muchos love!

All of these flitters belong to other people, obviously. They're just here to show off.

Bebehs:

Adults:

Sketchbook!
With the end of the year, one of my sketchbooks reached its end as well. It's the first sketchbook I've ever completely completed, so I'll celebrate a little.
Stuff:

1. BRACES OFF TOMORROW. *ded*
2. Student art fair - The art teacher told us one peice would likely be chosen from each student, but that we should get out our favorite peices from the year. I immediately whipped out my "Beautiful Pair" (the sunset-colored skull w/ white flower pastel), but also brought out my bald dude acrylic peice and my surreal one of the crow pouring crows out of a teacup. And he chose ALL THREE :O I nearly fainted on the spot.

I want so so badly to be on the Visual Arts Classic team next year *bounces*
3. Too much homework :P Persuasive paper and studying for Theology is all I have for now, but I'm not looking forward to tomorrow. Stupid, stupid, stupid persuasive paper.
4. The pykiin are coming along, but at a snail's pace. *scoot scoot* I really want to finish up on the seekrit *shushes those on friendlist* but there are many many other things in front of me first.
5. I ran the mile today. I also spent a good amount of time thinking of things that rhyme with the word mile - vile, bile... erm, senile. My time was 11 minutes and 9 seconds xP I highly doubt there is a way to get a lower score than that and still finish breathing as if you're going to die.
6. SPRINGTIME. ohyay.

*hugs Boroma* Bud, you stubborn tree. You look so much better with leaves. The raspberry patch is all pruned and ready for summer, and yesterday I found 2 baby mourning doves in my backyard! I may post pictures if I get the chance.

*scurries away to work on other things*

Interesting things that have happened recently:

- I've developed an odd fascination for chickadees.
- I found Chantilly's bellybutton (Becky insisted that it was a scar from her incision, but Google revealed that cats do have bellybuttons. Winnage with cannage!)
- I had to jump over hurdles right after lunch on a completely full stomach. Nooooot fun.
- I discovered Flim and the BBs. :O Awesometicular jazzy cool music with a kick.
- I've started a rather large project which will hopefully help me on my quest for a new computer. I'll put that one under friendlock later.
- I competed in a large ensemble with my band *dances in pantses* Funfun! I'm anxious to know the results.
- LOBSTER WITH LAZER SWASTIKA. *pewpew*

I had the wierdest dream last night.

I dreamt that I found a baby snake. And it looked exactly like Peanut, the one we found on vacation. But it was rather slimy and gross-feeling, instead of smooth and dry like a snake should be. And then when I flipped him over, his underbelly was that of a slug's - gel-like, translucent, and showing blurry, blobby, barely visible organs.

So I put him down in the grass. And he slithered away just like a normal snake would.
