This place is an loldramafest. Or ar least it was last night. Seriously, when Mom's in a bad mood, watch out 'cause things can get ugly easily.

I find it easier to ignore the kids once they start feeling sorry for themselves, and lock myself in my room with a book to stay out of Mom's way, but last night I tried something different last night - I DRANK MORE TEA.

It's like magic calming-ness :3 The little kids are blubbering and clinging to Dad, and I'm all ":D" I think mom needs to drink more tea. And as soon as I finish this gryphon, I'll draw her some flowers. She's been having bad days lately >:

BUT no worries, 'cause this gryph is turning out gorgeous, the raspberries are so plentiful you could pick them for hours and not get them all, I saw the frog in the pond the other day, a kidlet spotted a hummingbird yesterday, the flowers out front are magnificent, Boroma is healthy, we're having pancakes for breakfast, the water heater is on for my morning chai, I won a Glassgryph and gave it to Mira and she attcked me with love and happiness, the Cephalopods are being loved by many people, and my entire music library is on shuffle. LIFE ISH GOOD, PEOPLES.

French rap + Sting = love <3

I ARE TEA-POWERED SPEED DEMON. WATCH ME FLY!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Mom says I need to drink some of the tea in the cupboard before we can buy the tasty-looking apple cinnamon stuff. I'm on my sixth cup in the past two days. *bounces* Are any of these caffienated?

Good teas:
- CHAI PWNS ALL
- Plantation mint
- Chamomile
- This flavorless Benner tea *waves snake mug around, careful not to sploosh*

Bad teas:
- Orange spice instant tea. It's like... orange cider. Bleh.
- Green teas
- Iced teas
- Blueberry tea *gag*
- Cold tea that used to be hot ):

I'm a room away, and my ears have been attuned to catch the click that the water heater makes when it's done and the switch flips from on to off.

ALSO. There are meeelions of Glassgryph and Catfeather events going on this week on ponyisland, and I want to enter all of dem. Srsly. Gryphs are purdy and catfeathers are purdy and I SERIOUSLY want a custom Catfeather made to look like Midnight.

*cue stressfest*

Uhrrr too much to do. Again.

I don't know why I sign myself up for all this, anyways. Pykiin make me busy, GAX makes me busy and guilty, and now I'm ready to asplode again. BUT pykiin also make me feel warm and fuzzy inside, and I've made a tonload of cool friends over there, sooo... fwee :3

Oooookay. First thing first, that art exchange is due very very soon. Second thing second, Pykiin breeding season is around the corner aaaaand I'm going to get buried under kiin requests, yay.

This icon shows how I feels today, thanks :)

Heart!
Lolz. I have no life as of now.

Some birds I saw three months ago and just remembered to post )

Also, the pond has aquired an insane amount of teeny fry fish (again) and a frog. We have no idea where the frog came from, but speculate that it might have been the swamp down the block. In which case, he'll probably stay here since he knows how little water there is between that swamp and this pond.

[info]dozaloz! You are a master of awesome, and once I get Davy Jones' topic up in the character boards your fanart shall be displayed there, if it be your will.

Haven't even started those sketches, lawl. I'm a slow potato. But I did get stuff done today, which is good.

I've been playing Endless Forest a lot lately, too. Liria handles it really well, though I bet if we gave her that NVidia graphics card it would run even better. I'm just in love with that game, though! If your computer can manage it, I want to see one of you guys in the forest sometime.

Mah deer, complete with glowy pictogram, in my "special sleeping spot"

Yep, I always quit the game in that same spot so I can "wake up" in that same spot. It's purdy. I try to keep that pelt/mask/antlers set, too. The pelt is just plain pretty. The antlers have poppies, and I love poppies. And the masks change the way your voice sounds. Since I don't like being a loud obnoxious deer, I keep that mask and it makes quiet whistling noises when I roar. Some gracious person changed me into a frog lately, so I was romping around as a deerfrog for at least four hours on and off. Way too addicting, that game is. It's just so peaceful and simple. You're basically in an interactive painting, playing with deer and exploring the many surprises of the forest.

I want to make Endless Forest fanart badly.

Also, raspberry season is upon us! *sends raspberries to everyone via mindwaves* I spend most of my outdoor time in the raspberry patch now.

Stolen from dozza, first five to post get a sketch, but only if they post the same thing in their journal! If you've done this within the last month, you don't have to.

Also, I was stupid enough to do some curious research on the Silent Hill games lately. What I found was not only disturbing, but made me physically sick (to the point of nausea). Those games are seriously screwed. I will have dreams of dying in a room full of boiling blood tonight, whilst being chased by a Pyramid Head.

Thinking
At first glance, my house and family seems ideal. Seriously, we are the American stereotype. Picture this scenario:

A "stylish" 40-year-old mother sits at the dinner table, chatting on the phone with one of her friends about a lunch date tomorrow. Dad's at work, making a living for the family. A young blonde teenager in tank top and capris bakes cookies in a somewhat messy, but color-coordinated kitchen. The kitchen is roomy and decorative, with large windows that give you a perfect view of the homemade birdfeeder and glass hummingbird feeder in the flowering windowside garden. The three young children frolic and play in the 3/4 acre yard, and the neighbor kids have come over for a swim in the pool. The back deck overlooks a lush green yard with a garden and patio off to one side, leading to a small manmade pond and, farther, a vegetable garden. In the front yard, the family dog plays with a two-year-old child who is running about in glee. Bikes and toys dot the driveway, and a concrete pathway leads to a porch covered in wicker chairs and proudly displaying a wooden porch swing. Back inside again, the front hallway opens up to a spotless living room with a dining table (barely used), a china cabinet (also barely used), and a large television set. The cat lounges on the back of the couch, looking out the window with her tail twitching every once in a while.

Stereotypical to the last detail.

Upon further inspection, )

I've painted a simple picture of roughly an hour of activity in our home yesterday.

Gads, this place is crazy.

In other words! I've been making Liria nice and comfortable lately - after transfering my small collection of soundtracks and miscellany to Windows Media Player, I made a beeline for Dad's CD rack. I was only a quarter of the way down when I realised I couldn't safely carry any more CDs from the living room to the computer room. So, systematically, I've just ripped 10 of Dad's CDs to Liria, and I'm going back for seconds.

ELO!

Mmm, arts.

  • Jun. 17th, 2007 at 4:40 PM
Christmas!
Not my arts, but still, art arts! I went to Milwaukee Lakefront Festival of the Arts today. Fun stuff, you know. I was gaping and saying "wow" every three minutes, which was kind of lame. At the kid's craft area, I made a frilly blue "jellyfish chandelier" out of a plasic bowl, ribbons, and eyelash yarn. x3

One of the artists there, Shelby Keefe, did a demonstration - speedpainting to techno music. We hung around and talked to her afterwards, which was an odd feeling. She seemed to intuitively know that I was the artist of the family as we walked over and I thought, Hey, you're like a higher being in the art world. Mingling with the... er, peasants. Namely, myself. I was shy and respectful, as I usually am around strangers, but it was fun to talk with her. She seemed eager for me to keep in touch with her and gave me a postcard with her email on it. I may send over my Skull+Flower pastel peice with a few of my other favorites later today.

Oh, Doz! Pujii the cuttlefish wants to go home with you :D

Christmas!
I USE MY CHRISTMAS ICON BECAUSE IT FEELS LIKE CHRISTMAS! ALSO, I SHOUT A LOT.

As of last night, I am the official owner of a brand-spankin-new computer! *asplodes with happiness*

Ahahahah I can still remember how my stomach lurched when the total price was announced. But I've paid roughly $400 of the total, plus I'm getting a recovery disk for Windows Vista (still iffy about it, but I couldn't get XP) and a subscription to Spy Sweeper with AntiVirus, so it doesn't go kaput like last time. I still have to pay off somewhere between $300-$411, depending on if Dad strikes up a deal with me to help pay off the Vista version of SpySweeper. (But I doubt he will because he's already advanced me so much.)

SO.

I r teh happeh :D

Ooh, also, the deal we got included a $190 LCD monitor with a $170 mail-in rebate. Seriously, the monitor pays for itself! Too cool.

Computer gets picked up tonight (they're installing Spy Sweeper and uninstalling a bunch of adware crap that comes preloaded and eats up memory). I still don't know where we're putting it, though, since the parents don't want me holed up in the basement for the summer, especially while I'm watching kidlets.

*dances like a dancing... thing*

Edit - Just got a call from Circuit City - the computer's ready! *dances even more*

Okay. I think I'm better now. A whole lot of drawing helped with that one.

Rage sketch with other sketches that aren't so mangry )

Heh, Jade is some kind of Pykiin Insider now, just because she watches my journal x3 I post too much art for my own good.

.... yay for 80's music.

Oh! And also, one thing that really made my day today - I was petting Chantilly in the living room, and I heard an oddly familiar annoying little trill outside the window. Sure enough, when I walked over and looked, there was the fledgling robin and it's mother - the fledgling chirping loudly every three seconds and its mother digging for breakfast. I felt all fuzzy inside.

Okay, when the forecast called for heavy winds yesterday, I didn't think they meant almost-tornado winds. And we were almost-tornadoed. And... I slept through the whole thing, as usual.

Luckily, the only damage the house suffered was that the gutter got ripped off one side of the house. The willow tree across the street got banged up pretty badly, but Boroma is okay.

I nearly cried, though - we have a mother robin and her fledgling (old enough to fly but never leaves its mother's side) that like to visit our yard. But this morning as I left to babysit, the younger bird was wandering around alone and crying. >: I can only hope the mother didn't get hurt in the storm and that they'll find each other again.

Eh, I'm such a softie when it comes to animals.

Here, have some art farts )

Also, I read the Golden Compass, as there's a movie coming out soon and it grabbed my attention. That book really did make me cry, for one chapter. Great book, lots of things tug at my heartstrings but if you can actually force a few tears then I've attached myself to the characters and to the story itself. Can't wait for the movie to come out :3

Dad is trying to get me to learn how to use the lawn mower tractor D: Gawd, I'm scared of that thing.

Cephalopods!

~Whoaz, LJ was nice and let me post my posty post! I bet me and Doz frightened it by calling it poopy and racist :D ~

Yes, shame on me, I've started yet another project. I'm going to (try to) do a Cephalopod adoptable! :D It started with seeing PotC3 and realising that Cuttlefish are overlooked in popular culture and they would be so much fun to do for an adoptie. Of course, you can't have cuttlefish without octopi and squid and kraken! (Buuuut... now I don't know if I'll have time for such coolness or even Pykiin because people are stupid D:)

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I was digging around for other cool cephalopods to use as species for the new adoptable and I stumbled on the blanket octopus. SO awesome.

My younger sister decided she wanted a persona )

As I said earlier, I got to see Pirates 3. I would love to ramble about it but I can go do that in someone else's journal. Basically, everything about the movie other than the excessive death and destruction was awesome. :3 And I have pictures from the party with friends that I might show off later.

I got the soundtrack, too. SO MUCH FREAKING LOVE. "Up is Down" has gained my approval forever. lovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelovelove.

.... SHOOP.

No moar school (as of Friday)!!! I will finally have time to draw! Yay in a biscuit with sprinkles :3

Sorry for being so dead lately, school and exams and Pykiin and whatnot caught up with me. So, a long summary of the past few weeks:

School Stuff
Dood! I made Symphonic band!
After practicing all week, my audition flew smoothly and I didn't even need to finish my solo to convince the band director. I went from third chair in the beginning group to second chair in the advanced group in one year. <3

Dissecting Hitler
As much as I fear dead animals, the Bio dissection wasn't bad in the least. Our frog (Hitler, as we named him) got his innards removed - mostly by me. I only squealed once, when a scalpel slipped and fat bodies got flung at me.

Concert (+ loldrama)
Our Spring Concert for band went relatively well, apart from minor drama that brought back the whole "Chelsea is a horrible clarinet player" incident briefly. That's all long gone, though, so I'll spare you the details. I managed to get through the school year with only 2 and a half bouts of minor drama! Huzzah!

Exams
Long. Boring. Easy. What else is new?

Art show!
Click for a whole bunch of cool art )

Miscellaneous stuffness
A Table by the Window
Awesome book by Lawana Blackwell. The atmosphere she creates is so cozy, and she adds just the right amount of detail so you can visualise the story very very well but not be bored out of your brains reading it.

NO MOAR BRACES (thank God)
Omgyey.
Before/after piccies )

Of course, I still have the torture of retainers to endure. I'm getting used to them, though, and they're sparkly orange x3 yey

Art and the like
Even more art and rambles of d00m )
Edit: WHOAZ I just realised how well Ace coordinates his dancing with the Tiesto remix... *watches, faschinated* Also, all of that coding and I didn't mess up on anything :D

That's all! (whew, finally)

Loves to all you guys, and I promise I'll update more often now!

Souls? Plzkthnx

This is delicious!
Erm...

yey.

Well, orthodontist-y people decided that my braces aren't coming off for another two weeks >.< I got the bottom set off and my teeth look spiffycool, but I'm getting my retainer on Wednesday and top braces off a week from then.

Also getting a new/oldish computer to use until I can pay for my own. And I'm working on, like, a MEEEELLLION Pykiin customs.

Anyways, Midnight got some magical markings and whatnot. And she's pupil-less! Yay! But she can still nix all of these spiffycool qualities and become a regulat cat if she wants to.

I gotta go, sorry for not answering to comments/journals lately. I'm trying to read them all, but time is short.
